Luxury Barcelona

 On our globe, there are many wonderful places with the most incredible way to combine the gifts of nature: the sun, the sea and mild climate.

This area is marked in Spain, as a center of trade, industry and tourism. It is said about azure Mediterranean shore and world famous port city called Barcelona. This city is an economic, cultural and tourism center. At the end of the last century Barcelona hosted the Summer Olympic Games and at the beginning of this century dozens of artists from around the world also gathered here. The Mediterranean Union members established there headquarters in Barcelona. In this city the championship in water sports was held.

 

Barcelona sea port is one of the popular ports in that region. Barcelona Airport (El Prat) is different from other Mediterranean airports because of its size and key role - Barcelona takes care of its citizens The city lives on pan-European time, which is measured by Greenwich adding one hour in summer and 2 hours in winter.

  In Barcelona you can enjoy beautiful view on the television tower Collserola on the Tibidabo mountain - the highest point of the city. The landscape of the city is really special and unique, and basically it’s due to the mountain range. It can be noticed even at the city emblem - a yellow shield with blood-red stripes on it.

 

 

 

As in any city, Barcelona has its own street spirit with people looking for exotic local attractions or good shopping, or just hanging around among other people to filled with energy and good mood. A very interesting place is La Rambla with its pet market, noisy and whistling, newsstand La'Vanguardia and food market filled with fish and fruit. Barcelona lives a rich and full life.

 

 The town is notable for its original architecture in Art Nouveau style with the classy Eixample district. In the nineteenth century, Barcelona experienced great breakthrough due to significant investment flow in urban development. In general the city is built according to rectangular street plan.

 

 Urban blocks look like flat squares. Urban architecture in the old part of the city preserved Gothic accent with wrought lanterns made by the architect A. Gaudí, who was really talented. Gaudi was hardworking and devoted to this city. The city structures have practical application of housing, bathrooms are arranged very comfortably in a modern style and the houses are equipped with laundry rooms. The first underground parking in the world also appeared in Barcelona in 19th century.

  The city streets may have huge contrast. Tourists can notice a house of mind quarry with metal balconies railings – this is the National Bank of Catalonia - Caixa de Catalunya. At the time, the bank donated a lot of money for the restoration of the house to match the original idea of Gaudi. 

 

 

Another noteworthy city sight is Park Guell, originally conceived as an urban garden in the “English style”. It became a fabulous place due to A. Gaudí. He created pavilions - caves with concrete columns, and a giant bench, decorated with a mosaic of bottle and porcelain shards and tiles. A nice terrace attracts lots of tourists and is a great place to spend a romantic evening. From here you can have a nice view at the Mediterranean Sea.

 

 The main entrance to the park is decorated with two fabulous houses – another architecture wonders by architect A. Gaudí. Barcelona keeps the memory of many famous Spaniards and creative personalities. In this city Picasso is extremely popular. Orange trees, blooming magnolia, loquat and sycamore make a luxury background for the patterned arrays of the Royal Square in Gothic style.

Cathedral of La Seu has the honor to be a major tourist attraction. Special attention should be paid to the Sagrada Familia – there are a lot of books and treatises about its symbol, as it’s been simmering dispute between philosophers. From the Montjuic mountain you can have a nice view on the commercial port, with its neat rows of container and bulk carriers black.
